390: The Victorian Chaise-Longue by Marghanita Laski
The intro pitched this as a deeply unnerving horror, which it really wasn’t. Someone’s fate being attached to a soft furnishing was a good reminder to read The Sofa: A Moral Tale at some point.
389: Mapping the Bones by Jane Yolen
Of all the Holocaust fiction I’ve read, I think this most powerfully conveys how bleak, dangerous and unpredictable life was for those trying to survive.
388: Through the Forest by Laura Alcoba
Treats an undenabile tragedy with a rare but necessary compassion. Another excellent book from Fum d’Estampa, can’t recommend these guys enough. Buy it here.
387: Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke

386: Abel Sánchez and Other Stories by Miguel de Unamuno
Read this when I visited Basque Country. Abel Sánchez itself was OK. San Manuel Bueno, Martyr, one of the ‘Other Stories’ mentioned in the title, is masterful.
